Girl Guides Association

About Hong Kong Girl Guides Association (HKGGA)

The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association has been empowering young women since 1916, making it the largest female youth organization in Hong Kong and one of the 153 Member Organizations of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

The Association organizes training and activities to meet the needs and interests of today's girls and young women. These programmes aim to train and equip Girl Guides with knowledge, techniques and attitude. Girl Guides are actively participating in service projects through which they developed a caring and positive attitude in life. To prepare young people for the lives ahead of them, we focus on developing six essential "C" skills: Character, Creativity, Citizenship, Communication, Collaboration, and Commitment. These skills enable our members to thrive in our rapidly changing world and empower them to follow their own path.

Our School's 31st Island Company

"I am proud to be a member of the 31st Island Company." "I love 31!"

Established in 1964, the 31st Island Company has been serving our school community for over 60 years as a harmonious and united family. With more than 35 sworn members organized into 7 patrols - Balloon Flower, Bauhinia, Bougainvillea, Chinese New Year, Hibiscus, Tree Lotus, and Camellia - we embody the spirit of working hard and playing hard together.

What Makes Us Special

Diverse Activities
Our company offers an exciting variety of both internal and external activities. Internal activities, including general meetings and fun days, are organized by our patrol leaders, providing them with valuable leadership experience while stretching their potential. External activities such as service projects, pioneering, and backwoods cooking are coordinated by our dedicated senior members.

Skill Development
Members receive comprehensive training in essential Girl Guide skills, including drilling practices, knotting, and decoding. These activities teach discipline, cooperation, and help develop well-rounded individuals.

Community Service
Through joint-unit functions and service projects, our guides contribute meaningfully to society while enhancing their leadership and interpersonal skills.

Unity and Spirit
Our signature gesture - "Lift your right hand with a '3' and left hand with a '1'!" - symbolizes our unity as the 31st Island Company family. We share both laughter and challenges together, creating lasting bonds and memories.

Being a Girl Guide at our school truly enriches the secondary school experience, providing opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, and meaningful community service. Come and join us now!
